Defintions
Daimyo- A powerful warlord who controlled a region of Japan.
Shogun- A powerful military commander of all Japan: after the shogun seized power in Medieval Japan, the emperor became largely a figurehead.
Emperor- The first Japanese emperor was the leader of the Yamato family, which dominated other rival clans. He and the other emperors who followed claimed to be descended from the gods.
Samurai- warrior sworn to serve and fight for his lord (daimyo) and who followed a strict code of sonduct called bushdo.
Eta- also known as outsiders, the tea did the worst of all the jobs in the town.
Keep- The central, most heavily defended part of a castle.
Seppuka- (suicide) Samurais commited suicide or seppuka if their daimyo had died in battle, been assasinated or possibly if he died of natural causes. Seppuka was considered an honorable death, along with dying in battle or even commiting seppuka in battle.
